Pianist James Dapogny formed his Chicago Jazz Band, based in Ann Arbor, in 1976.  It has made eight albums, performed nationally, and backed blues singer Sippie Wallace with guest appearances by Bonnie Raitt. Its joint appearances with the popular Chenille Sisters trio began in 1986. He write arrangements of 1920s to 1940s jazz and pop tunes for them and his band.
