Burns' strange take on Jazz cries out for a subtitle:
"Musical Profiling: Playing While White"
Poor Burns fell into the hands of the Lincoln Center crowd. What a pity he never talked with Sudhalter, Tex Wyndham, Whitney Balliett, Leslie Johnson, Jim Leigh, and a host of others. He has given us a totally distorted view of Jazz, as we know and love it!
