Interesting posting, Bob. You were one of many qualified people whose offers to help on the Jazz project were ignored. I need to clarify one point you made regarding the link to the RAG on the pbs.org web site. We are still linked on the local (Twin Cities Public Television/Minneapolis-St. Paul) Jazz web site and I must say that the local station has not allowed the controversy to affect its coverage of jazz. I also would like to encourage people to check out the national PBS Jazz web site because it has exceptionally good material available. The RAG isn't listed as one of the national jazz links, but neither is any other publication. I'm not sure if that's because there is a lot of criticism in the jazz press or if it has something to do with sponsorship. Or PBS may just consider the RAG to be a local publication. In any case, although I'm sure PBS is not thrilled with criticism posted on our discussion board, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because the representative I initially contacted at the PBS web site is a very decent person who sincerely wants to offer an educational web site (which she does).
